What is this Building Block about?

This Building Block captures the agreements on how we want decisions to be made in our Holon. It defines our default type of decision making, which is consent. Also it contains a basic explanation about decision making to have a common understanding.

Why is this important?

Our self-organization model is defined by decentralizing decisions. To be able to make quality decisions as a group we need a common understanding how decisions can be made.

How?

What are our agreements on how we do this building block?

These two agreements on decision making are the foundation of how we make decisions in our Holon.

1. As soon as roles have accountabilities, the role owner is authorized to do what he/she thinks is the right course of action to fulfil the accountabilities. Always with respect to what's best for the Holon.
2. For anything unclear how to proceed or unclear where the authority lies, the default is that we make decisions via Consent decision making.
   • Those who are impacted by the decision are involved.
   • We make use integrated decision making principles to integrate objections.
